Appearance determines the quality class of sawn timber

Finnish sawn timber is produces according to the Nordic Timber Grading rules –quality standards.

The size, number and location of the branches are the most important criteria in determining the quality classes.

When sorting the timber all sides are checked separately. The quality is determined by the edges and sides. The moisture content of the exported sawn timber is 20 % ±4 %.
